The Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys have reached a multi-year contract extension that includes $60 Million in guaranteed money.
The deal is expected to be finalized today and will include a $20 million signing bonus.
Cassel signed with the Cowboys in the offseason after being cut by the Colts last season.
The Cowboys signed him in March, and the Colts made the deal official today.
Cassell, 29, started 13 games last season, and he threw for 3,093 yards and 20 touchdowns.
He was also intercepted in his only start.
Cassels salary is guaranteed for injury.
The Colts were also able to sign wide receiver Rashard Higgins to a one-year deal last week.
The two players are now the highest paid players on the Colts roster, with Cassel making $4.9 million in total guaranteed money over the next three years.
They are expected to work out a contract extension before the season ends.
