A Florida Republican senator on Thursday said President Barack Obama “is not an American.”
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Thursday blasted the president for not standing up to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood.
“President Obama has a problem.
He is not a true Christian,” Rubio said on Fox News.
“He does not believe in God.
He doesn’t believe in Jesus Christ.
And that’s what we have to stop him from doing.
That’s what the Christian right is trying to stop, not just defunding Planned Parenthood, but defunding a whole lot of other people.”
Rubio added that Obama “does not believe the Bible and the Bible says that God created Adam and Eve.”
“He doesn’t have a God, so I don’t think that he believes in God,” Rubio continued.
“I don’t believe God is the creator of life.
And we need to make it clear to him that that is not what he believes.
And it’s not what Jesus believed either.”
The Bible says, ‘God created the heavens and the earth.’
And I believe that God has created all life on Earth.
I believe it’s true,” Rubio concluded.
Rubio has been a fierce critic of Planned Parenthood and other reproductive health care providers, and on Thursday he slammed the White House for its efforts to block funding.”
Hannity asked Rubio whether he would support defunding abortion providers.””
We are going to be seeing a lot of people who have a lot more to lose if the president does this than we would have if he hadn’t been able to get it through Congress.”
Hannity asked Rubio whether he would support defunding abortion providers.
“If he does it, I’m going to support it,” Rubio responded.
“If he doesn’t, I dont think that we should defund abortion.
We should defund every organization that performs abortions.
And I’m not saying that we have a problem with Planned Parenthood but I think we should not be funding it.”
A former Republican presidential candidate, Rubio is now a top adviser to Trump, who has also expressed concerns about the impact of abortion on women.
