Day 1

A trip to the outskirts along the Ambassador Row, Istana Sharif Ali, and Malay Villages. Royal Selangor Pewter, reputed internationally for its high quality and craftsmanship, is the largest pewter manufacturer in the world. Processes such as casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving are on display, with the opportunity to purchase gifts as diverse as champagne flutes, chess sets and flashdrives. Continue with a visit to a Batik manufacturer. Malaysian Batik popularly features floral motifs and is lightly and vibrantly coloured. Out in the countryside enter the limestone hills of Batu Caves. It is the shrine of Lord Murugah, a Hindu deity, and is one of the most frequented Hindu sites outside of India, and the focal point for Malaysian Hindus during the festival of Thaipusam. A flight of 272 steps leads up to the cavernous temple cave.
